Altersvorsorgedepot at Smartbroker+ from 2027
Smartbroker+ names prices of its own for the Altersvorsorgedepot. The securities account, savings plans and orders in the standard securities account are free, and the company reimburses the running fund costs for the first three years.
What does the Altersvorsorgedepot cost at Smartbroker+?
The account and orders cost nothing. That holds for both variants, and in the standard securities account the provider also refunds the fund costs.

- standard securities account
- One-off purchases and sales are free of charge too. The provider refunds the fund costs in full, 100%, for the first three years, up to €25,000 of invested assets. From year four only with 15 trades a year. By the provider's own account the ongoing product costs of the standard depots are mostly below 0.15%.
- free-choice securities account
- The order prices apply via gettex.
The refund comes with conditions. They appear only in collapsed sections. After three years it continues provided at least 15 trades ran through the main account in the previous year; it is capped at €25,000 in invested volume. The terms of participation also reserve the right to change the offer at any time.
What the commitment covers
Smartbroker+ lists prices for both variants on a product page of its own. There is no depot fee, and savings plans are executed free of charge. In the standard depot one-off purchases and sales are free of charge too; in the free-choice Altersvorsorgedepot that applies from an order volume of €500 via gettex, below which an order costs €1.
The most striking figure concerns the ongoing fund costs. Zero, for three years. They are refunded in full, 100%, though that applies only in the standard depot and only up to €25,000 of invested assets. What applies after those three years has been in the terms of participation since 22 September 2026: the refund continues for each contract year provided at least 15 trades ran through the main depot in the previous year.
The page carries no date. So we read it afresh every round, because without a date only the present state can be established, not when it last changed. The provider names no caveat about certification. It only notes that the final text of the act governs.
The standard depot comes in three variants. For them the provider names indices — the MSCI World, the MSCI ACWI and the FTSE All-World — and writes that implementation will be through ETFs from well-known providers. Which ETFs those are is nowhere stated. Anyone wanting two variants may, according to the FAQ, split their money across two standard depots.
On the cost refund the small print pays. The product page carries the zero for the first three years. The footnote in the provider's own FAQ says more: from the fourth year the refund applies only to those making at least 15 trades per calendar year in the main depot. A retirement depot whose advantage depends on trading in a secondary depot is a construction worth knowing about. The same page says “in the first three years” in one place and “for at least three years” in another.
Pre-registration has been running in the app since 8 September. Existing customers register directly; everyone else opens a depot first. On certification by the Federal Central Tax Office the provider says nothing, neither on the product page nor in the release. And it names the custodian only for the main depot, Baader Bank, not for the Altersvorsorgedepot.
On 15 September 2026 everything listed stood unchanged. Two details are added. By the provider's own account the ongoing product costs of the standard depots are in the low double digits in basis points and mostly below 0.15 percent a year. The selection is narrower than noted so far. Investment is in ETFs and funds up to and including risk class 5, plus EU government bonds. One observation about the source belongs here. The provider's schedule of prices and services, dated July 2026, does not list the Altersvorsorgedepot. The prices are on the product page and in the release of 8 September. They are not in the schedule.
Which products Smartbroker+ has announced
The standard securities account comes in three variants, built on ETFs tracking the MSCI World, the MSCI ACWI or the FTSE All-World. Beside it stands a free-choice securities account.
You sign directly with the provider. Anyone bringing a Riester contract can transfer it, according to the page — free of charge and without cancelling, where the contract is more than five years old. Payouts begin at 65 to 70 at the earliest, and the drawdown plan runs at least until 85. Nothing is certified yet, and without certification there is no subsidy.
