What lies behind the commitment

Ask at your Sparda-Bank and you will get an Altersvorsorgedepot from 2027 — except that the bank will not be the party the contract is with. Sparda-Bank West puts it most plainly itself: worked examples, questions and all product details are to be found directly at Union Investment, the long-standing partner providing the new depot.

Eight of the eleven banks run a page of their own. Besides West these are München, Nürnberg, Ostbayern, Hannover, Baden-Württemberg, Berlin and Hessen. The association at sparda.de does not cover the subject; its search returns no hit for it.

Furthest along is Nürnberg. There is a real waiting list with a form there, and it is the only page to carry a date, September 2026. Most specific is Berlin, where two product variants are given: a standard product with active ETFs and one with a 100% contribution guarantee.

The commitment does not come from the bank. It comes from the alliance partner Union Investment, and at München and Ostbayern the Union sentence appears word for word on the page — a centrally supplied text block that any Sparda-Bank can adopt unchecked. The page carries no date.

About Sparda-Banken

The Sparda-Banken are eleven legally independent cooperative banks with a regional footprint, originally grown out of the railway sector. They belong to the cooperative FinanzGruppe, whose fund provider is Union Investment.

Questions and answers

Can I get an Altersvorsorgedepot at my Sparda-Bank?
From 2027, yes. It is provided by Union Investment; the bank advises and arranges. Evidence: the provider's website.
Does every Sparda-Bank cover the subject?
No. Eight of the eleven banks have a page of their own; the association has none. No page does not mean no offering; it only means we have no evidence for one.
What does the Altersvorsorgedepot cost at a Sparda-Bank?
The page stays general. There is no figure of the provider's own on costs. A price only becomes binding with the schedule of fees that follows certification.
