More
- Securities account
- “€0 in the standard securities account contract at launch; what applies from the second year and for the Pro variant, the provider intends to announce before launch”
- ETFs/funds
- “0.07% for the Vanguard FTSE Global All-Cap and 0.08% for the Vanguard Global Aggregate Bond EUR Hedged; quirion reimburses both amounts for at least the first year”
- standard securities account contract
- This means the TER of the two Vanguard funds.
Both apply only to the standard contract and only at the beginning. What applies from the second year, and what the Pro variant costs, the provider says it will name before launch. That sentence is worth remembering: it says when the next figure arrives here.
The commitment in detail
On 3 September 2026 came the news the whole market has been waiting for. quirion announced a partnership with Vanguard and named the funds for its standard depot, the Vanguard FTSE Global All-Cap with 0.07% in ongoing costs and the Vanguard Global Aggregate Bond EUR Hedged with 0.08%. The same release says the digital wealth manager will launch with a free offering. That too only becomes binding with the schedule of fees after certification.
This did not come overnight. quirion committed itself as early as 24 April 2026 and has listed the Altersvorsorgedepot in its navigation as „Bald verfügbar“ — coming soon — ever since. The Chief Innovation & Product Officer is quoted by name saying the product sets a new standard for private retirement provision. The launch is to be 1 January 2027.
The page also carries a worked example, and it needs reading with care. It assumes the existing management fee of 0.48% plus roughly 0.20% in ETF costs. Those are today's figures. From the current business, not from the Altersvorsorgedepot.
With the announcement of 3 September that calculation is out of date. Anyone launching free of charge cannot charge a 0.48% management fee. So we continue to list the figure as a modelling assumption from the current business and not as a term for the Altersvorsorgedepot. In any case a price only becomes binding with the schedule of fees after certification.
Since 9 September a sentence has stood beside it that qualifies the announcement: what the Altersvorsorgedepot at quirion will cost is to be announced before the launch on 1 January 2027. We continue to list the announcement as a term, because it comes from the provider itself. But the caveat belongs written beside it. Only a schedule of fees is binding.
On 15 September 2026 quirion named figures of its own for the first time, in its own FAQ on the product page. The standard depot contract carries no depot fee at launch, and the provider refunds the costs of the two ETFs, 0.07 and 0.08 percent a year, for at least the first year. What applies from the second year, and what the Pro variant will cost, quirion intends to announce before the launch. The announced free launch has thus become a time-limited statement, and the time limit is one the provider names itself.
The caveat is gone. From 8 October 2026 to 12 October 2026 the sentence „Ob wir diese Vertragsart anbieten, entscheidet sich mit der Zertifizierung“ stood beside the standard securities-account contract. Today it is no longer there, with no hits at all across the page content, including the embedded areas. The statutory standard contract is now described without qualification, with one equity and one bond ETF. The prices are unchanged. That resolves the contradiction we carried, and it resolves it in favour of the commitment. Read at the source on 13 October 2026.
