What lies behind the commitment

Since 8 September 2026 we have used the provider's own product page as evidence instead of the June press release. It carries a calculator and a newsletter on the subject, plus a second variant for partners.

On 11 June 2026 MorgenFund announced a depot solution jointly with Franklin Templeton. The roles are divided. MorgenFund provides the product and the infrastructure, Franklin Templeton brings its investment capabilities, with a focus on ETFs. The whole is to be offered to selected sales partners.

One sentence on the page is easily missed. MorgenFund remains the retail customers' contracting party in law, so anyone signing up through an intermediary still has their contract with MorgenFund and with neither the intermediary nor Franklin Templeton. That is the point.

The provider's two own sources contradict each other in tone. The press release is binding: it will provide a fully digital, scalable and regulatorily compliant offering. The product page sounds distinctly more cautious: it is preparing a depot, and the design will follow the final rules and the certification procedure. We list both. The contradiction we disclose above.

On 3 September 2026 a second partnership was added, with J.P. Morgan Asset Management. The release sits as a PDF on the provider's own product page. It changes nothing about the division of roles. The customers' contracting party remains MorgenFund.

About MorgenFund

MorgenFund was created in 2021 to take over parts of DWS's platform business and began operating in December 2022. It is based in Frankfurt am Main and owned by BlackFin Capital Partners with 70% and DWS with 30%. As an investment firm with custody permission MorgenFund holds securities accounts itself, though without deposit protection.

Questions and answers

Does MorgenFund offer an Altersvorsorgedepot?
Yes. MorgenFund provides the product and the infrastructure and becomes the retail customers' contracting party in law. Evidence: the provider's website, 7 October 2026.
Where do I sign up?
Through a sales partner. Not directly. The offering is aimed at selected partners who carry it under their own name.
Whose name ends up on my contract?
MorgenFund. That is the exception — normally this is the brand you sign up with. MorgenFund is responsible for costs, cancellation and enquiries.
What does it cost?
The product page describes the offering but names no fee. A price only becomes binding with the schedule of fees that follows certification.
